LOVE a calculator! Even better, I am a bit obsessed with the colourful ones. Teaching audit papers can limit my passion but you STILL NEED A CALCULATOR for ACCA AA.
Why?
• You WILL need to calculate materiality
• You MIGHT need to calculate ratios (we get very excited when we see numbers in an audit risk question)
• And no matter what we SHOULD be calculating how long we have for each part of the question!
Students need to plan how long they have. Not just for the whole exam. Not even for how long they have for each question. But how long they have for EACH REQUIREMENT.
Give yourself every possible chance to do well at each stage of the exam.
